MKS TARNOVIA TARNÓW - HISTORY

Team found in Tarnów in1909. Red & white coloured flag.. The beginning of the club reach 1906 when pupils from three secondary schools create team called "biało-czerwoni". The second team- "Tarnowski KS Pogoń" has been set up in 1908. Tarnovia-Czarni has been formed from the union of these teams in 1909. This club exists till now, which changed name few times but it has always "Tarnovia" in it. The biggest success was participation in top-league (1948). Finally Tarnovia got the 11th place and fall into the 2nd league. The most famous footballer was Antoni Barwiński, who represented Poland 18 times.

Some people say that 1906 is the beginning of Tarnovia but others think that 1908. It is said that year 1909 (when KS Pogoń & Biało-Czarni linked) is official beginning. Unfortunately I do not know the exact date of foundation. Only on the ground of xerography of footballer's identity card from 25thsept I can say that combination couldn't be before 25thsept 1908.

- in 1906 schoolboys from secondary schools set up first football team in Tarnów - Biało-Czerwonych. In 1908 the second team- KS Pogoń has been formed. In 1909 these teams join themselves and create Tarnovia-Czarni.
